Hey all... I just got my wisdom teeth out. Thank god none of them were impacted, but still, my mouth is numb as hell. Does anyone have from past experience the knowledge as to when this virtual paralysis wares off? At that point I'll probably be upset it wore off, but right now, this hust feels VERY strange.
And.... I'M HUNGRY!!!!!!

The profound numbness will wear off over a period of hours.
You may see some lingering effects the following day, but it should trail off
pretty linearly.
As for pain... take the recommended medication, even if you're not sure if you'll need it..
The first sensations you get will probably be soreness, and then some pain;
"normal" tactile response will be the last thing you'll recover.
Its not unusual to still have some pin-prick pains and soreness and muscle effects
a few days later, but they should be sporadic and not continuous.
Anaesthesia is funky stuff.
