I've set up a petition page to Sharp Corporation:
http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/?q=petitiontosharpPetitions are cheesy and a waist of time.Ya, they might be a little cheesy and have been over done.
It will only take about 1 minute of your time, so if it is a waste you're not out by much.
Why should Sharp care what us folks in the western world think?I'm a firm believer in speaking up even if you are a minority.
The existence of this community is a voice in some sense, but perhaps a petition page is a way of being more direct.
If the Zaurus is only sold in Japan, why have an English petition page?If people can translate the quote into Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, etc I will be happy to add those languages to the page.
Here is the quote people can translate:
We, the Zaurus community, request that Sharp Corporation continue to develop and produce the Linux-based, Zaurus "Personal Mobile Tool" devices.
We appreciate the work that has gone into the design and implementation of the hardware. We enjoy the freedom that running the Linux operating system gives us.
The Zaurus hasn't been officially discontinued!True, and good point.
But personally I would rather try to influence them to not cancel the Zaurus then try to influence them to un-cancel it.
I don't want to create an account on tyrannozaurus. And as I mention on the page:
If an individual wishes to be added to this petition but does not wish to sign up for an account on this website, please email tyrannozaurus at gmail dot com and I will paste your email (minus your email address) into a comment.
