Installing Ipks And Managing Feeds?
« on: March 17, 2008, 09:09:04 am »
Have recently installed pdaXii13 and am a newcomer to Linux so am using my Z to learn the ropes since i like playing around with gadgets and getting the Z has worked in so far as I'm finally learning to play with Linux, lets say its a kind of carrot.

At the moment I need help with installing apps and managing what they call feeds?!? If i want to install some apps and at the moment I am looking to install a video player and office apps how on earth do i do this?

Have seen the page http://www.supakewl.com/capnfish/feed/ which has links to a bunck of ipks, so do i just download these to my SD card and use the built in package manager to install them?

Thanks
Gus

Be careful with packages from my feed. Most of them are built against a different glibc than comes with pdaXii13, so they probably won't work.
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo

Read meanie's pages
I would start with this one for Sharp, because it has a lot of basic stuff about using a Zaurus and feeds, etc.
(Remember, these 2 sites cover Sharp ROM. I included the Pdaxii13 page below these 2 links)
http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/
AND
http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/custom.html#custom

Also look for any post by meanie on this forum, and download the PDF in his signature.
It includes the above 2 sites, and pdaxii13 site.

On to pdaxii13, this is meanie's project. Go to this page regarding pdaxii13.
