advMame settings

Hi,
I downloaded LordDavon's advMame binary and set the config file to use SDL video and sound. Games start up but are unplayably slow, does anyone have some pointers on how to optimise it? I'm using Kathrin RC2.

try this, it works with most emulators :

* kill X server (Ctrl+Alt+Back)
* type :           export SDL_NOMOUSE=1
* launch your emulator.

Turning off sound may help.

What game do you play with ?

Playing the emulator outside X certainly improves things, especially without sound, thanks.
The games I'm trying at the moment are Bombjack and Raiden. Bombjack is OK but Raiden is far too slow.
