I stumbled on the fact that Zaurus.org and Zaurus.info were available to register, so I grabbed them whilst the going was good, I didn't want to let them fall into the hands of spammers and scammers.
I hereby donate them to the community. It wasn't expensive to register them both - Godaddy promo!
I propose that another admin sets up a fresh Godaddy or Gandi.net account (I'd prefer Gandi) which is specifically for these domains, and we admins share the username/admin details so that we avoid the problems we've faced with previously expiring domains.
Thanks for your generous donation, and sorry for the late reply, I'm back home now. I have taken a look on archive.org, in the past these two domains have been used only for test pages:
https://web.archive.org/web/20040121011959/....zaurus.org:80/https://web.archive.org/web/20050209062653/...zaurus.info:80/... so about time we make better use of them. I also like your idea to share the username/pass among admins.
Then we try and get this website/forum to accept zaurus.org as an alternative address?
Good idea, this way the forum will be still accessible in case we have any problems with the oesf.org domain. Let's try to set this up from Godaddy, if it will turn out some settings will be required on the web hosting service too, I'll get in touch with them. Regarding zaurus.info, we might use it as a direct URL for the wiki, but I'd prefer to finish its upgrade first.
Is there any value in setting up email forwarding so xyz@zaurus.org will work?
IMHO not, at least I can't think of any use of it now, maybe we can consider this in the future.
