Thank you v much smapsmap (sorry I have to write --you'll miss my strong Norman[dishe] accent ,-)
Would you mind to update us if possible with your Gemini's real life battery life (in-use, stand-bye and/or charging time) please?

Hi Tukoz,

no problem. I generally put it on charge every night so this isn't very scientific I'm afraid

....with screen brightness around 50%....
- Very heavy use (mail, twitter etc) I still have 20% by the end of the day
- I think normal use - 1- 2 days.
-I reckon it would stay on standby for a long time - several days maybe?

I don't think I've had a phone with this sort of stamina since my Sony Xperia Z3!

cheers
Michael

Just had a look at the battery stats.

I've made fairly heavy use today (TuneIn streaming, phone calls, note taking, eamil checking) and battery is at 89% after 3 hrs so should last until the end of the day and probably into the morning.

Phone charges up in a around 2 hrs.

cheers

Thank you smapsmap. To get an even more specific idea does your little beast have some juice sucker apps (most social network apps, some other like email if auto-checking frenquently) auto-starting?

I noticed Opera VPN was running and using up almost as much juice as the screen. I'll keep it installed though and only enable when I'm on public wifi.

Looking at the battery usage today I got almost exactly 24hrs our of it with fairly heavy use. Reckon the recharge time is about 1-1.5hrs from zero to 100% using the fast charger and 1.5-2.5hrs without.

My initial thoughts after a day of use. Review prepared using my Gemini

Hardware:
-   Do read the quick start guide as it tell you important things how to switch on and charge and how to insert the SD card and Micro SIM card
-   Nice design touches like the overhang lip on the front to make it easy to prise open the clam shell
-   Magnets are strong
-   This baby is slim
-   The keyboard has been designed for the slim profile so travel is limited but sufficient for feedback
-   Vibration feedback handy when using with thumbs when not placed on a flat surface
-   Screen does get very dirty  and the supplied cloth is not that great!
-   Very fast charging which worries me a bit. Charge from 35% to 100% in about an hour
-   My ā€œdā€ key is not as sensitive as the others and you do need to press in the centre of the space bar to get it to work properly
-   Lovely screen

Launcher and Android OS  etc:
-   I had to use the Nova launcher to get rid of the Google search bar, which eats up the screen estate
-   The first SD card I tried the Gemini did not like it, requested to format it
-   The Notes app failed because of the rejected SD card, not sure it was by default trying to use the SD card
-       The keyboard app preferences does not seem to allow keyboard vibrate to be switched off
Overall I am happy with the Gemini as a version 1 device.  I think the keyboard could still benefit from an improved implementation.  This will definitely make me a much more productive person in business and personal life.

More to follow once I have tried more productivity apps and the new Agenda app.
