Carrier certification?

Something I haven't heard mentioned and have no idea about, though it could affect how quickly we get our gadgets: How long does it take the various carriers to certify a device for use on their networks? According to one of the video interviews with Janko during CES, this was yet to happen. (I wondered if part of the batch of 20 taken to CES had been set aside for this purpose.)

Anybody know what's involved in this?

The carriers would have to carry the Gemini and none do. If they did you would receive a Gemini loaded with the carriers bloated software. The Gemini's were tested by placing the carrier's sim cards into the Gemini and using it. Other then that nothing else was done so when or if you have issues your carrier will inform you that the Gemini is not an approved certified device.
