Poor sound via headphone jack

the 3.5 jack offers very poor sound output. If you listed on headphones, there is a lot of computer "hash" noise. Tonight I plugged in a pair of self-powered Philips speakers. The GPDA actually started vibrating!
Something wrong here!

Yes, this is unfortunately a known issue. In the following thread there's an explanation on why does this happen, and a workaround for this:
