my LTE plan is without voice service but it allows SIP, so I want to connect my Gemini to Sipgate for phone calls. For some reason the Android phone menu to configure a SIP service seems to be missing, so I have tried several Softphone apps. They all work in general and use the handset speaker and mic by default, so I can talk with the device closed. Unfortunately I have not found an app yet, that takes the silver button as a signal to accept or terminate a call, so when the phone rings, I have to open the clamshell and enter my password to take the call. Even worse: to terminate a call I have to open it again, navigate back to the SIP app, select the ongoing call and then end the call.
The experience with Skype is mostly the same.
Idealy I would like to be able to configure my SIP account in the normal phone app (like in most other Android phones) and handle SIP calls the same way as Cell calls.
