Keyboard = slowdown
« on: May 31, 2004, 03:29:52 pm »
I\'ve got a C750 using the standard Sharp ROM. I was wondering if the following is fixed/improved in any of the other ROMs, or if there\'s some setting I can change somewhere:

If you hold down a key, it really slows the machine down. This can be demonstrated by going to a terminal, getting a big listing on the screen (that scrolls off the top) by doing a \"du\" or something. Then Hold down Shift + Up. While the keys are held down, the scrolling is painfully slow. If you let go, it still empties the keyboard buffer so continues scrolling, but scrolls quite a lot faster.

Also, the slowdown is very noticable when running some emulators. GnuZBoy slows down, as does snes9x. The GB emu is especially noticable on scrolling games as it runs at 100% GB speed unless you are holding a key down.

that problem can fixed by keyz (but not sure)
zaurus`s key refresh rate is too fast, so if you press key a while, your Z can be slow down.
So if you want to hold down your key, install keyz and setting following tabs
Auto Repeat Delay (ms) : 5000
Auto Repeat Period (ms) : 5000
