Running OPIE 1.0.2 on Ipaq 3645
« on: July 15, 2004, 08:43:58 am »
In advance of buying a Zaurus I would want to learn to use OPIE on my Ipaq with familiar 0.7.2

The Qtopia-alike GUI looks nice, but I can't figure out how to install a program. I tried downloading an ipk to my CF and clicking on it in the "Documents" tab, which results in a window that says: "Packages was terminated due to signal code SIGSEGV".

Could someone please explain me how to install anything - for example a simple mp3 player - in OPIE? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go to the Settings tab and tap on Packages. Then, from the drop-down list on the top right, select "local packages" and the package you have on your CF card should be listed.

Hope this helps.

ipkg in familiar 0.7.2 is broken. Upgrade it manually. (wget, ar, cp and friends).
