Serial camera control for Zaurus

Hi!
I wonder if somebody could help with this... is may be posible to remote control a old serial port camera with the serial port of the Z5500...

I thing that may be wonderfull is something like this could be made for the Z...

but in a more rnow eality approach, I wonder if somebody may be have interest in triying to compile  for Z some of this stuff is it could be suitable ( I simply dont have the skills that may be it requires...)....

I wonder  that could be very nice to control and external good camera with serial link, and  the good thing of serial is taht could change the settings on the camera and  not only donwload the pictures like with USB cameras  (another good part is that the old models of serial connections are now at  silly prices, but they are still good cameras for experiment/fun...  who knows, may be other Z owners that already have an old of this cameras around...)
