Looking for a good editor
« on: September 01, 2004, 08:55:13 pm »
I am looking for a good editor to use on the sharprom. I would like to use tinykate, but can't find the version for the sharprom.  I guess if someone has it they can email it to me at maxaster at comcast . net ... That aside, I have been using YEdit2 because I like that its got the basics such as autoindent, find and replace. Below are editors I have tried but don't quite like...

visiscript
zeditor -didn't run
vim -hate vim
less
jed
minide -java?
EIDE -java as well
microemacs -hate emacs
TKCeditor -haven't tried because its commercial

Is there any other console editors out there, or gui editors?

Why Zeditor does not work on your Z? Which one are you using?

Kindly provide URL for YEdit2 for Zaurus.

Hi, heres a link for YEdit2 http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=2222

I don't know why it doesn't work on my SL5500. I install it, the icon shows up.  When I click on the icon however, the hourglass appears for a moment but no application ever opens up once the hourglass disapears. I have the 2.38 sharpROM installed. Yedit2 doesn't do any syntax hilighting, which is a real bummer!

I don't remember if this is an option in 2.38, but make sure your app can execute as root (click and hold over the icon).
