Problems Flashing PdaXRom
« on: October 15, 2004, 12:35:07 am »
I extracted the R5 zip file onto my FAT16 formated CF card, so it had the three files on it.  Then i followed the isntructions on how to pull up the Service menu.  When i get to the menu where i select the media to flash from.  I select CF, and then i get an error message.  It's in japaneese so i have no clue what it says.  I get the error no matter what media i choose so i assume its like a "can't find files" or something.  I've tried multiple cards with no luck.

any ideas?

thanks.

(poor cam shot of it)

EDIT:  Turned out the AC wasn't plugged in on the other end, and that's what caused the error

Yup, always check the A/C power when doing anything other than normal use.  You need it in for anything on any Z (again, excluding normal use).

It's always the simplest things that everyone forgets, eh?
Sorry. I just don't have the time...

yeaah.. like i couldn't figure out why OZ didn't flash.  And it was because my card was Fat32, not Fat16.  That was driving me nuts
