Apache, Php, Mysql, Mambo And Phpnuke
« on: February 11, 2005, 04:20:43 am »
In addtion to the above is phpmyadmin 2.6.1 the latest version, mambo is 4.5.1 and phpnuke is version 7.6 platinum.

If anyone is interested, i can supply a guide to get all of the above going on the c3000 with mysql databases on HDD2 the WWW on HDD2....

Then when the device is connected to network can run demonstrations such as jetbox a free php CMS system) - very impressive and shows the C3000 for what it is - a very powerful, boot pocket pc into touch, device...

Wow, very interesting. If those are working, I can imagine Drupal (what I am currently using for my website) will also work. Have you tried serving pages over the network? If so, what's the speed like (is it workable as a server)?

Best regards,
Jan

Sorry i am not familar with that CMS system, but i took a look and i'm going to download it.

I run a 128mb swapfile on HDD3 as well.

In terms of network i alter the httpd.conf file and enter the ip address of the current wireless network - i change the mambo, php files as well otherwise it will appear as localhost on a remote machine and come up with page not found (kinda expected that !!).

Speed of page delivery is impressive. On our office lan connected via 11mb wireless to C3000 a page was delivered to a hardwired PC in around 3 seconds. (no joke, we were all amazed).

Hence at a customer demo when you stand down at the end and tell them it was all run from the zaurus you are almost trampled in the rush to view it.

I did'nt want to spend time listing how this was all done (including the IPK's) if no-one was interested. I don't use the device to play films etc (i'll wait for a suitable app to come out), instead show its power as a server.

I currently trying to see if XAMPP will work but i hold no hopes for it.

I will try to use the device as a server as soon as I receive it next week (and after I configured it to my liking). I can imagine indeed that people are very impressed by the power of this device. I hope to be able to use it as a movieplayer too though.  Can't you use the included player for that or is it severely limited in what it can do and what formats it plays. I used to use the built in player when I still had my 750 before I changed to cacko (I think it was cacko, can't remember for sure...) and it worked if you converted your movies the right way. There was a large tutorial on how to do it somewhere on these boards back then, but it was based on Windows software. I will try to find it if you are interested.

regards
