Hi there,

I have had my Z 5500 for a couple of years now. The battery life seems to have detioriated to less than an hour with backlight.

I just wanted to confirm that this is normal, and to see if anyone can tell me where I mightr be able to but a new one online from the UK?

Yes that is normal.  Rechargeable batterys only have a certian number of recharges before they start to degrade and not hold as much a charge.  It's usually in the couple thousand charges, but that varies from manufacturer and type.
