Cacko Rom Question
« on: December 10, 2004, 06:07:14 pm »
I am trying to find a work around for a major problem on the 5500: Every time the battery runs down (like when an alarm alert comes on and doesn't turn off until the battery is completely drained), all data is lost and I have to restore from a backup.

I noticed the Cacko ROM for teh 5500 has an option to run from the SD card instead of internal memory. If data is stored on the SD card, then if the battery is drained, next reboot everything should still be available (and not hav to be restored).

Is that correct?

If so, it would solve a lot of problems.

Thanks!

Yes, if you use the Cacko (Crow) ROM with /home on SD, then you won't lose any data if the battery runs out. All your data is on the SD card which is non-volatile. This ROM does not store anyting in RAM.
