My SL-5500 drained the battery yesterday. Once I got it charged back up, I checked the settings in the Light and Power applet. It was as I had set it:
On Battery
Dim after 60 sec
Light off after 120 sec
Suspend after 300 sec
On AC
Dim after 600 sec
Light off after 1200 sec
Suspend after 1800 sec
Normally, I'm pretty good about shutting the Zaurus off, but this once I didn't.
The only change I made was the Cancel button suspend fix, which was posted here when 3.5.3 first came out, which was to comment out the /dev/apm_bios line in /etc/device_table. Could this be what is causing the automated suspend not to work? Is there a fix for it?
