What\'s your source?  I\'ve seen a lot of different rumor and speculation about the pricing.
Last post: http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...viewtopic&t=976

I\'m guessing the $600 quoted from the IBM person was for a bulk buy of the basic model. For us normal consumers to get hold of them a reseller will have to make a bulk purchase, then recoup their costs and probably will want to make a bit of money from it too.

Everything is still fairly speculative at this time though.

I sent a note to the maintainers of the Sharp web site, asking why they still had no mention of the SL-6000.  The response said they were rethinking the contents, then noted:

The Zaurus 6000 is not availableyet.  It will not be for sold through retail channels but will be a corporate solution.  Enclosed is a link to a Press Release.
(There were actually two links, both pointing to the usual late-November Press Releases.)

This does not strike me as good news...

I predict it won\'t make much difference.  It means places like Best Buy won\'t carry it.  Probably not Amazon either.  But it will surely be available from smaller web shops.  I expect it to much more available than the Japanese models are, since there are no import hassles.
