sd card --> how to tell format of it
« on: February 05, 2004, 09:48:22 am »
hi,
just got an sd card. I read about format with the commands depending if you want to make it fat16, ext2 or even ext3

However, if you want to display it (some noted that even though they formatted it ext2) , it didnt show up that way. df wont tell you the file format, fsck (??) dont think it does. Curious if you can see what the format is via a command.

Also, Im assuming that if you keep your cf card as fat16 for kernel and rom flashes as a backup, and the sd as ext2, this allows you the best scenario for package  installs etc esp when using ktrove?

Thanks
Greg
