Wallpaper Randomizer
« on: October 16, 2005, 12:51:04 am »
I know this has been discussed before, but I noticed something if you select a wallpaper on your sd card then eject the card it goes blank on the next tab tap. Then if you insert again it reappears, anyone know what this mechanism is? And if so can we exploit it to get a nice python script to choose a random wallpaper every x minutes

there is nothing to exploit.  if you do the same if the files were installed internally, they remain the same.

Meanie can write a good script in randomizing wallpapers to appear but why do that?

you would need to disable it if you play an nes game or youll be having some serious issues.  unless you add a script to identify applications that should disable random wallpapers.  Too much if you ask me and updating as well would be a major problem for new program as well from the time the script was developed.  The vast changes the files undergo compared to anything would keep the scriptwertter busy.....unless you can tell the program from a gui which library to identify if executed to disable the randomizer.

I say keep it simple.

hey dude..i noticed that you asked meanie to write a script which would allow theme changes easily?  if you go for that route, make sure that the xtra files are numbered according to a specific file type instead of having it randomized like i have it.  Reason why i didnt go too deep in keeping continuity between the files is because it just takes up too much time.  So...i left it as is and let the people get some sort of start.

it would definetly be a plus.
