PIM apps for desktop ?

Hi there!

I\'m using the calendar from Open Zaurus 3.2 and a cute programm called notez on my Z. I\'ll find out how to make backups of the right files myself, but I\'d like to use these apps on my desktop, too, especially the calendar. How could I accomplish this? I don\'t think I can just compile them, I don\'t have opie or something installed on my dekstop (and I think that would be quite some work to compile that ...). What\'s left? Any Emulator-like Program or so?

If there\'s no chance, could you suggest an application which can be synced with the calendar? I think evolution or korganizer are overkill for just using the calendar, what\'s left here?

Hmm.  well, the only ical apps I\'ve found were Evo and KOrg.  There is an old ical calendat for X, but it would not read the ical from my Z or vice versa.

This might be a foolish question, but ... what\'s ical? Some kind of like... file format for pim apps?

Yes, a file format, not just for PIM.  Used by KOrg desktop and KO/Pi.  I think Mac might use it, and numerous other linux apps.  Its an Open Source format.
