Compiling Kde 3.5 For Rc12

Hi all:

I'm trying to compile KDE 3.5 full for the Z. Seeing how 3.4 runs nicely, but is not completely compiled for the Z, all the apps and so.

I'm using Konstruct and am proceeding.

I've compiled Qt 3.5.5. But now get stuck on compiling arts, currently with the following errors:

don`t compile arts it is useless since pdaxrom uses oss ,just build kde with --disable-arts(or --without-arts).
plz compile kde 3.5 i have plans to make a kde-based roms since konqueror run very fast when kde is the windows manager/Desktop eviroment.(and coz Qt apps runs faster than Gtk2 apps(Gtk run alot faster than Gtk2)).

can you give a ipk of qt 3.5.5?
how are you compiling kde native or cross-compiling?
if native,which sdk are you using?

It's 3.3.5, sorry...

I'm compiling native. I use the RC12 sdk. It takes ages, man... I'm on the verge of giving up on this. Every time a little error and then a day, or two-day wait. Maybe it's not worth it...

I was actually hoping somebody would give it a shot on a PC...

Out of curiosity, other than as an exercise, why would you want 3.3.5 when 3.4 is out? That is, why not build stuff for 3.4?  I assume I'm missing something...

Yep, basically I tried to build kdeedu (that's what I want to use) for 3.4.

But it keeps complaining about kde headers not being there or something, so I assumed the packages don't have the kde includes, so you can't use them for building.

Is this so?

I admire your patience in trying to compile KDE natively on the Z. A full compilation of KDE on my desktop (2.4GHz) takes a day or two. I would imagine it would take a month or two on the Z

Maybe the right word isn't patience  

Anyhow, I've given up on the project. The reason is the time consumption, which doesn't seem to be worth it...

Compiling Kde 3.5 For Rc12

on my 2.4ghz it is 6-8 hours compiling kdelibs and kdebase,what you do is compiling all kde packages which is a big waste.
compiling kdelibs and kdebase nativly on the Z in 624MHZ without artsd cupsd and more stuff should take less than a day .
plz Sash or Laze compile Kde 3.5 for pdaxrom i want to start working on making it working good so i can use it dailt(i am trying to compile but i don`t have so much time between work and school).

Sash told me he's working on it... So if he has time, we should see KDE 3.5 some time. Don't know when though...
