No The 6000 On Ebay Is Not Mine!

First of all this is NOT concerning the Zaurus SL-6000 that Smooth is selling!  It has nothing to do with him!

For the details please go to the "Deals and Great Z Buys" forum and read my post there.

Here's a link for those as lazy as I am

We got him shut down, and the account has been restored to the REAL Ebay seller.  Thanks for all who helped on this one.  Be on the lookout for more of this sort of thing through Christmas as we will CERTAINLY see more of it.

The same guy has 3 of them up on ebay right now, and he is selling them for $300 a pop.  He is using the pictures you used on your auction.  Something doesn't seem right here.  If it is too good to be true, it probably is.  I would love to snag a new sl-6000l for $300, but seeing as how no one has bid on them, it must be a scam.

Yes, this is obviously the same person who keeps repost 24hour auctions.  I'm growing weary of turning him in to Ebay and they are doing all they can do, however he seems to have an endless supply of hijacked accounts with which to repost his listings. A VERY disfortunate situation for everyone involved.  But PLEASE BEWARE everyone!  This is a case of "if it looks to good to be true, it probably IS!"
I've also wondered if this may be a reincarnation of Jpettins. I am greatly chagrined and deeply frustrated that this guy keeps using a mimic of my listing to continue this sham.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is someone I helped get busted in the past and he's doing it  clearly mimicking my listings when the smart thing would be to vary them, in this manner to intentionally thumb his nose at me.  At any rate, if he's trying to make this a personal thing between the two of us then he's more than succeeded.

MESSAGE TO THIS SCUMBAG WHO'S DOING THIS ON EBAY:

If YOU are reading this right now and I feel fairly sure you are/will. Then know this:

I don't care how many listings you post on Ebay, I don't care how many schemes you come up with to rip innocent people off, you will ALWAYS be able to find me if you wish.  Just look over your left shoulder. I WILL BE THERE. EVERY TIME.
Each listing you make, each time you try to scam people you will continue to make make mistakes.  Maybe small mistakes, but mistakes nonetheless and I will be one step closer to shutting you down permanently.  Until then be assured I can turn you in to Ebay ONE MORE TIME than you can make a new listing. I am a patient man and have all the time in the world. So far you have failed EVERY TIME, and EVERY TIME you bring me that much closer to identifying who you really are.
So please- keep trying, because so long as you do-  so will I.

Yes he's definitely a determined criminal.  I've turned him in to ebay for 36 different auction listings now. The majority of them ebay shut down early but there have still been a few ppl sucked into the scam.  He always posts a 24 hour auction and always closes it early. Apparently hi MO is to wait for ppl to bid on them and then invite them to conclude the transaction off of Ebay.  At that point the victims are divested of any shred of support that Ebay/PayPal etc. may have given them.
It's a pretty slick setup from the technical point of view- he uses a different European/American hijacked account every time, although the ad itself remains identical regardless of who's account he's using.  The really smooth part is that because he never lets the auction terminate normally the real ebay member's account never has bad feedback posted to it etc.  For a majority of the ones I've turned in the user never even knew the guy had hijacked them since he didn't change the password.
He also chooses members accounts to hijack who have often 1000 or more feedback, my guess is that he figures the person must list so much that his counterfeit auction will never pop up on radar.
Typical nerd whoever he is.  His technical skills and ingenuity are pretty good, but he's totally ignorant in certain respects.  For example he goes to all this effort and then posts an auction that is filled with misspelled words and contradictions.  He's also vague about everything.  He'd probably rope a lot more ppl in if he'd list the auctions like he's got a lick of sense.  My 12 yr old daughter can do better.  Most ebayers are avoiding him like the plague simply because it's obvious he's not who hes representing himself to be.  Anyone in the market for a SL-6000 would know that a SL-6000 owner would probably be very intelligent, and at least would take the time to post an auction that would attract like-minded buyers. It's the most air-tight yet sloppy scam I've ever seen. The usual scams we see this time of year are usually visually very slick and try to drown the customer in details and a plausible story to back it up.
He's nothing more than an annoying wannabe. I wouldn't be surprised when the cops finally knock down his door if they find out he's not even in High School yet. Stupid kid.

I have been ripped off for a Zaurus on e-bay, and let me tell you.

NOBODY supports you.  E-bay does not follow through on their $200 coverage program.  Law enforcement EVERYWHERE claims that it is not their jurisdiction.

The only way to get your money back is to track the f***er down yourself.  Took me 2 months and 12 hours on the phone.  Pricejapan baby!

Somebody or some people are selling 6 SL6000s on ebay.co.uk right now. I have read the above posts about this scam. Just wondered if anyone has bothered to contact the people bidding on them as there are currently two bidders and I thought perhaps it might be a good idea to ask them how they get on or warn them/point them to this thread. It's not nice watching people being ripped off if that is what is happening!

http://search.ebay.co.uk//search/search.dl...&satitle=zaurus

There are bidders on the first and third SL6000s listed.

Notify ebay by sending a message to their fraud scan link. Youll find it by following the link in the site map.
Notifying the bidders is done similarly, go to their site map and follow the community links then search for the members name.  Once you find it just message them with the warning.  Ebay allows bidders to retract bids if they percieve a scam.
You are their best and sometimes only protection.
