Cacko On Sl-c3000
« on: January 20, 2006, 02:33:19 pm »
Hello, I'm considering moving from Sharp ROM to Cacko, but I would like some feedbacks from other users that actually moved with their 3000 model.

Is there any chance of bricking my Z by installing Cacko ?

Any warnings, recommendations ?

What's the current major problems with the Beta ?

Thanks

On bricking your Z w/ a ROM update.
-- I've flashed and reflashed several kernels without problem. Of course the usual disclaimer applies; your milage may vary

On warnings/recommendations.
-- not really. The cacko beta does everything I need it to do and it's damn stable. But it all depends on you answering the following question. "What exactly do you want to do with your Z?" Cacko is the ROM that Sharp should have produced in the first place (IMHO).

On issues with the beta.
-- See above. The beta works fine for me. I have had a few lockups caused when Kino crashes. That's it. The 1.23 beta just plain works.

I'm now running cacko 3k beta

Since there's no NAND backup or flashing to do, It was much more simplier than I tought.

Great ROM
