Sending CTRL-ALT-END from Zaurus
« on: February 09, 2004, 10:02:32 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I have a fingerprint scanner that i use to log into my Windows XP Pro machine.  I would like to use Remote Desktop to access my desktop, however, the software that controls the fingerprint scanner doesn\'t move to the username/password when conencting from a RD client (it would normally go past the CTRL-ALT-DEL screen to the login prompt).  I found that by messing around with a remote desktop client on another desktop, that i can send a CTRL-ALT-END in place of CTRL-ALT-DEL and it will be interpreted correctly.

I am using Qtrdesktop to connect to my desktop from my SL-5000D, OZ 3.3.5.  Is there a way with the keypad, multikey, or anyother input that could effectively send a CTRL-ALT-END, or would that have to incorporated in the client itself.  If I couldn\'t modify the client, would it be hard to make my own input method that just sends CTRL-ALT-END?

Just to note, I also run VNC, but I cannot enter my password at the prompt for whatever reason when remotely connecting... it might be a related issue.  Anyway, sorry for the long wind.  Thanks.

In case anyone was wondering the same thing, I found the answer to my question.  Install the opie-keyboard ipk and use that instead of Multikey.  Sending a CTRL-ALT-DEl [END] works like it should in that input method.
