Resume (after Suspend) Not Working
« on: June 16, 2006, 11:55:42 am »
I seem to recall reading something about this (somewhere), but I can't find it again, so over to you guys for some help...

With beta3 when my C1000 suspends, I can't resume it (with the on/off button) - everything remains off/blank.  Even if I power-off, then battery out/in and then press on button nothing happens!!  For a while I thought my new toy was fried   .

The only way to get the C1000 working again is to power off, then D+M, power on, press on button, and then it boots - though this method only seems to work now and again i.e. not very consistently.

This is a bit scary - any ideas?  What am I doing wrong?

One day I'll have answers rather than questions!

I have pulled the battery and pushed the reset button...

Little black button under the battery cover?

I know this won't fix your suspend issue... but it might make it easier then having to go into diag mode....

It is to the left of the battery... it is about a 1.5mm x 1 mm button...

press that pop the cover back on... and slide the battery cover switch....

Wah Lah... it should boot back up... but like I said... this isnt a fix... but just a easy method to booting it back up...

I dont see why your having a problem with suspend in beta3... I see a lot of people having problems with it... but me... I very rarely have any problem with it...

Ah yes, got it. . . What a sneaky place for a switch!!  Do you know what it actually does i.e. what does a reset actually do?

Just reboots the Z... well since it *shouldnt* reboot without the cover on...

I will say it just tells the Z to wipe ram (not ROM) and reboot on next power up....

If some can explain this better or correct me if I'm wrong I would appreciate it...

Did you try it?

Typically of "inanimate" objects it refuses to fail now!!  I'm just trying to get an XFCE4 install working, so I'll see what happens later - thanks.
