Cf Bluetooth Make/model Recommendations
« on: November 21, 2006, 11:12:27 am »
Hi all,

I'm in the market for a compact flash bluetooth card for my C3200 so I can be online all the time with T-Mobile's web & walk connecting through my sony erricson w800i.

As I've no experience with bluetooth as yet I was hoping someone could recommend what a good one to get is, and what a good price to pay is, which seems to vary drastically from £20 - £100!

If anyone has any links or know a good UK distributor I'd be really happy to hear about them.

thanks

EDIT:
There are a few dell truemobile 300 on ebay, anyone have any experience with these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DELL-COMPACT-FLASH-B...1QQcmdZViewItem

Socket BT CF card... the reason I say this one... because it sits flush in the Z... no "sticky outy"

I'll second the Socket BT card. Sits flush so you don't have to pop the card when tossing your Z into a pocket or a bag. It also seems to be pretty low power so I don't notice a big battery drain when using the BT like I do with WiFi.

Looks pretty indeed ....

But quite expensive. Anyone knows a good (cheap) place for european buyers ?

BTW : Mine is a Billionton - works good - but it's a "sticky outy"

Ok I've searched every uk distributor listed on the Socket site, and can't find a 'decent' price (for what I had in mind), anyway, here's the details for anyone who's interested:

www.expansys.com £88.95 inc
http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=124933

www.smartdevicesdirect.com £77.95 inc

www.thebarcodewarehouse.co.uk £74.99 exc

and I also found amazon stock em

www.amazon.co.uk £88.66

I've been using the Billionton card too - Amazon has them for about $35.  It has worked flawlessly until I flashed to r121 - I still haven't managed to get it to do diddly under r121.   It only protrudes about one centimeter.  What I find irritating (with several wifi cards as well) is the blinking blue led...
