Let's Put Together All R121 Fixes
« on: February 08, 2007, 09:04:29 pm »
Can you use this thread to post solutions you have found to latest release bugs?

Have any of you a solution for characters error in xterm? Aterm? in text mode after exiting X (missing keys)?

Have you got a solution for touchscreen losing some release events?

C'mon, putting all hints together would be very usefull, and I'm looking for a fucking setup

1) hard (impossible?) to correctly set mouse keys, ctrl and alt - broken inputconfig.py (at least on 860)
2) touchscreen control buggy: when you point the pointer jumps far from the desired place (on screen keyboard unusable)
3) system time reset at 00000000000000000000009 seconds when rebooting
4) broken textual mode when exiting from X
5) broken key mapping (at least on 860) since logged in

This thread will only really be useful if you post summaries of bugs and their fixes in the first post of the thread, as it gets way too hard to dig through tens or hundreds of posts to find one bit of information.

I agree. I'll update the first post as soon as first hint will be published.

Agree. That's exactly what keeps me from trying r121. Real life doesn't allow me to spend such luxurious chunks of time and energy on excavating the gems of fixes from the massive tomes of bits and characters.

What on earth everyone is forced to go through the same troubles in order to find exactly the same answers which are already available out there?

How about the moderator(s) consider extracting the useful stuff from the fix posts and put them in one central place, especially when Laze and other devs are asking for bug reports upon releasing new versions?

e.g.

r121 bugs & fixes

Display
Issue 1: blah
Fix: (digest or link to specific post)

Keyboard
Issue n: blah
Fix: blah

and so on

my worthless 2 cents

Are the keycodes the same between Zaurus models? I'd offer to try to fix up a inputconfig.py script, but it may not work on all models.

In order to fix the keymap in X, edit the /etc/X11/kb/(model)/xmodmap_us to your liking. Use xev to find the keycodes.
