Eabi Repositories Offline? Or Is It Just Me?
« on: November 27, 2007, 01:12:58 pm »
Since yesterday the gnuab repositories have been inaccessible from BigZ using apt-get update. The same applies to applied-data repos. Is it just me? I've seen no other comments so I'm wondering.   The ones on jpmatrix's site are up and running....

Just to emphasise: using EABI kernel, modules and filesystem courtesy of cortez and the ZDevil scripts....

Just as an extra: the only browser that works for me is dillo. YMMV

I find the mirror of gnuab http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/mirrors/ftp.gnuab.org/debian pretty stable and working most of the time.

PS many browsers work well. just see the recent posts in  "I want it complied!"

Thanks to the wikifier!  , I'm back up and apt-getting... By the way jpmatrix, the easynet.be repos wouldn't resolve for me either! :rolleyes The first thing I tried after apt-get was installing epiphany-browser: it installed and worked. It wouldn't two days ago. But the locales installed two days ago, after being uninstallable for all this time. Looks like there are some hard-working people out there!

As  regards 'many' browser: I can only say that now translates to two for me!! Dillo and epiphany.   Just hope I can avoid breaking this install before cortex or ZDevil give us this new improved tarball

Updated off and on today from the easynet.be repo's today without problems.

Dillo is the only browser working for me too, unfortunately.

i've just received that message from debian-arm mailing list. i post it here because it lists the alternate debian repositories:

------- Original message -------
From: Aurelien Jarno <aurel32@debian.org>
To: debian-arm@lists.debian.org, debian-hurd@lists.debian.org,
debian-bsd@lists.debian.org

Hi all,

You may have noticed that gnuab.org (the archive for armel, hurd-i386,
kfreebsd-amd64 and kfreebsd-i386) is down for a few days.

When it happens, it usually takes a few days or weeks before the machine
is back again (mainly because the admin of this machine lives far away
from it), that's why we have decided to move the archive to a new
machine. I would like to thanks Guillem Jover for running this service
in the last few years.

The new machine is called debian-ports.org [1]. As before the archive is
accessible through http [2], ftp [3] and rsync [4]. You will find
attached to this mail the new archive key signed by myself, it is also
available on [5] or on the keyservers.

Developers who were allowed to upload to gnuab.org should be allowed to
upload to this archive. Please contact me if it is not the case.

The machine also runs the wanna-build database [6] for those
architectures, and collects the build logs [7].
