Files Needed For Installation Pdaxrom
« on: September 10, 2006, 02:22:14 pm »
Hi, reading the pdaxrom-installing-how-to I've noticed that the tree files described here http://www.pdaxrom.org/node/48 aren't in the beta4 of pdaxrom.
The author says the tree files are:
initrd.bin, tools.tar, and updater.sh
but in the file http://mail.pdaxrom.org/download/1.1.0beta...ita-current.zip
there aren't these files but the follwing:
autoboot.sh
kernel.img
rootfs.img

Why this?
Is correct if I use put these files in my SD to switch to pdaxrom from my current cacko?

Thanks in advance.

It's because the how-to refers to beta1 (or 2 or 3).
Since beta4, installation is different.

So, if you want beta4, see the thread here

But perhaps it would be better to test beta3 first and see what is pdaXrom ?
In this case, download this file

plcg
C760 & Pdaxrom 1.1.0beta1 / Transcend 512 MB CF
C1000 & Cacko 1.23 full / PQI 1 GB SD/ Hitachi 2GB microdrive
Linksys WCF12 CF WiFi Card

You really don't want to go messing around with this install. It lead me to erase my Japanese boot loader, afterward I
was crapping bricks when I no longer got the familiar 4 way selector in Japanese after pressing  power on with the OK button,
but instead a completely different bootloader was installed which could only be used with this particular OS.

I had to dig very hard on the Internet to restore the original bootloader. so please be very careful with this one!
you could easily brick the Computer if you make the slightest mistake !
