I got a SL-5600 yesterday, and I\'m loving it. I used the sharp ROM updater to flash it to 1.32 via USB, that went smoothly.
However, I\'m finding that the default ROM is rather....\"restrictive\". So, I want to flash it again with a different ROM, but my problem is that I don\'t have a CF/SD card, I\'ve only got USB. The sharp ROM updater can do it, and the SL-5600 has the stuff also, but all other ROMs that I\'ve seen *require* a CF/SD card. Is there any (known) way to swap ROMs without a CF/SD card?
Question #2: Is there any way to re-partition the ROM/RAM with the default sharp ROM? I\'m sorry, but when the ROM itself uses less than 32MB, and I could be using all of that space but can\'t, it kinda make me a tad bit aggravated =)
Question #3: TCP/IP connectivity and windows. Yes, I\'ve got a linux router box. Yes, it has USB, and it runs Fedora Core 1. The problem is that there isn\'t any USB drivers for it. So now, I\'m stuck with my WinXP box to get the zaurus on the internet. Yeah, saying that when I\'ve got a linux box makes me feel like crap, but what can you do?
Question #4: Is there any battery out there that will work with the SL-5600 and last longer than the battery shipped with it?
I\'m sure that I\'ll think up more sooner or later....yes, btw, I read the \"friendly announcment\", but the search was of little help to me with these questions. Heck, if someone can answer me with something more than a \"yes\" or \"no\", then I\'d be willing to write up a FAQ/etc....=)
