IrDA file beaming now possible
« on: March 10, 2004, 03:22:40 pm »
Well, i was up till 4:30 or something crazy like that last night. And the end result is, i was able to transfer files back and forth between my Ericsson T616 and my c760. I will work on some more stuff to have it be a little more user friendly, as right now its all done from the terminal. But mabey this will be might chance to finally take the dive into programming GUI\'s. *shrudders*. But i will be cleaning it up a bit. and then talk with sash about having it be part of a base install on the next release.

Hey, any progress on this? Or is the work sharable now?

Beaming files to my SE T610 is one of the many issues from stopping me from using pdaXROM constanly.

Yep, Tomorrow i\'ll post the IPK for it. I have just finished the first release of a GUI app for file beaming.

Will this work on the Cacko Qtopia ROM v 1.20 as well? What re-configuration is necessary to transfer files via irda to the C7xx (Cacko ROM driven)?

You shouldn\'t need any additional config to get Irda working on the Cacko Qtopia ROM, should work out of the box as it did for me. Just need to activate Beam Receive under the Settings tab.

No, it won\'t support my app. But it has IrDA file beaming built in anyways.
Here is the first version of My gui IrDA file beaming app. It isn\'t very good at this point. as there is no indicator of the status. of when it is transfering or not. But i have a new version almost complete that does.

There is a link to the IPK and the source for it on that page. Enjoy, and give me feedback.
