The Verge's Review Of The Zaurus Mi-c1
« on: September 29, 2016, 09:35:16 am »
The Verge has published, in the Tokyo Thrift column, a review of the Zaurus MI-C1. Tokyo Thrift, as described in the page, "is a column on The Verge where Sam Byford, news editor for Asia, trawls the second-hand market to explore the history, design, and culture of Japanese gadgets. It runs on the last Sunday of each month." It's a nice reading and a nice trip down memory lane:

Thanks for link....remember reading about this device years ago...seemedbpretty advanced at the time.

Such a shame that Sharp stopped releasing new Zaurii or even an improved Netwalker....

Oh well....so it goes.....

I have never owned one, but from what I can see from the photos a major drawback of the MI-C1 was the lack of backlight, the screen is barely visible; some of the later MI models seems to have the backlight implemented.
