Hi!

Are there any CF or SD BLUETOOTH cards available that works with the C860? Any links on where these can be obtained from?

THANKS!

Only CF bluetooth cards work AFAIK.  For the CF cards that work, check the bluetooth compatibility list:

I have the Socket bluetooth Rev. G card working.  You can search the web for this card - I got mine for ~$80 on amazon.  I know that others have the bluemonkey card working well as well.

Hi n8a!

Thanks for the feedback! I surfed a bit and came up with the following:

Yes, apparently the C860 does not have an SDIO SD slot, so only CF cards will work.

I will look around for CF cards listed as compatible.

Cheers!

No prob.  To clarify, it has an SD slot but the SDIO cards IIRC will not work on it.  I\'m only fully certain that these SDIO cards will not work on the 5500, b/c that\'s the only one that I own

OK, hopefully the last question on this topic

From the experience of the users in this forum, which CF Bluetooth card fits the following description:

1.) Is as far as possible hassle-free to set up and use on a C860.
2.) Using the Cacko-ROM or X-ROM.
3.) And fits flush against the casing(does not have anything sticking out of the C860)??

Thanks!!!

The only card that fits those requirements is the Socket Rev E/F card (NOT Rev G), but Rev E/F cards are hard to get hold of now and no retailer will guarentee which revision you will get.

No other card fits completely in the CF slot, but the Bluemonkey and Ambicom BT2000E (not the BT2000C with the purple casing at the top) cards should at least work out of the box ok.

Thanks Tumnus!

I read in one of the threads that the Nokia card also sits flush, but I don\'t know how easy/difficult it is to install.

I just want to make sure I get a card from the beginning that\'s not going to cause me to pull out all my (remaining) hair

Thanks again for the hints!

The Nokia card is exactly the same as the Socket Rev E/F card and isn\'t sold anymore (except perhaps on eBay, etc). Socket bought the design and rights from Nokia, but then they moved to a different chipset with the Rev G card.

Hi Tumnus

Thanks for the info. Damn! Seems like the \"G\" revision is the only way out - seems like they are getting the support for it sorted though. Seems like there were(is?) still a few problems with that revision.

The \"G\" revision still sits flush with the casing?

Yes, the Socket Rev G still sits flush in the CF slot, but there are still a few teething problems with it.
