This reminds me of the pixel power down issues after IIRC, Android 8 where units would show half of a battery charge, but still power down as if the battery was dead.

This is a known issue with the Gemini as well, kind of sad/strange if they haven't been able to fix it by now, and new hardware...

(It happens quite randomly on my Gemini, but usually when it is drawing a lot of power. I think I can "force" it to shut down more or less independent of battery percentage by connecting the hub and then attaching a large USB HDD to it...)

I've seen similar behavior with previous phone (Android 7) when the phone became cold, i.e. was in a bag or a car at around 0 °C for two hours or so. When I then tried to use it, it powered down immediately. I could then start it again, and it would work (possibly not when the battery becomes even colder, but in the cases I had, it worked). I haven't seen that with my Cosmo yet, but I think it hasn't become as cold yet, too.

Could that be your problem, too, or was it warm when it powered down? Lithium batteries don't like becoming too cold, the voltage will drop, and to the battery management system, it will seem as if the battery was empty.

Nope. I was using it at the time in my cozy, automatically controlled 70 degree inside temperature pick-up truck,. Wasn't a case of extreme temperatures
