Attachments Fail
« on: August 01, 2004, 12:50:59 am »
Just tried to save a reply with attachment. First as a ZIP file, then as a JPG file. Both WELL below the 2mb limit. Won't work. What must I do to get the system to accept files??

Sacrificing a chicken was suggested in another thread.

Tried sacrificing a chicken nugget but didn't seem to work. At present I'm also unable to upload attachments to posts or to the downloads area. OFG is lloking at the problem but obviously it hasn't been fixed yet.

Thanks, Stu. The system was *really* strange when I posted that. Attachments failed, avatar uploads failed, I wrote a "reply" here about the avatar problem & I couldn't POST it. Kept telling me that I was NOT logged on even though the top said that I *was*. Gave me an error screen with log in prompts then, when I logged in, SAID that I was logged on & being transfered but booted me back to the forum top menu still as guest. VERY odd.

I DID "sacrifice" a rubber chicken to our network server once years ago. I had promised it a chicken if it would only WORK and, by danged, then it DID. But since I hadn't specified exactly what TYPE of chicken, I figured that I had a "safe" out.

Anytime an instrument wouldn't work, someone would go get the rubber chicken to rub on the malfunctioning machine. We got a LOT of strange looks (G).

If ORG / OFG gets really stuck, I have an inflateable goat that I can space for the "cause" (don't ask, it's a LONG story & I live where Santeria is taken VERY seriously, so .....)

Perhaps we should all chant a cyber mantra that I learned:

DWIM ..... DWIM ....... DWIM ......
