wireless networking?
« on: November 26, 2003, 05:48:28 pm »
So I\'m playing with the x11 cacko rom again, damn this is going to be sweet!  Though I can\'t seem to get my wlan card to work... I use the lanconfig app to configure everything, with a static ip... all seems fine, but I\'m not able to ping anything...

anyone have this working yet?

btw - I installed all the apps in available on the cacko server (for x11).  He\'s got doom packaged!  It works great on my 760... it doesn\'t maximize to full screen, but it does run in VGA and the sounds even work... too cool

I used Netgear MA701.. It doesnt show anything in the GUI but if you type ifconfig it will show the wlan0 with an ip address. I have used konqueror and the mail app

How did you manage to get that working? I put my card in, type ifconfig, and all I see is lo. Did you do anything special to mount the card or something?
Thank you for your time,
Arrummzen

EDIT: OK I got that working. Why do I see eth0 with no wireless extensions not wlan0 with wireless extensions? Whats differnt about are systems?

Thank you for your time,

my bug was fixed by the cacko team in the lastest ROM build.  I don\'t know what they did, but now I can use the LANConfig utility to configure my static IP setup and ifconfig returns all the correct values for my IP address, netmask, broadcast, etc.

Does it show up as eth* or as wlan*, it is important for me that it is wlan*, as eth0 does not support some of the things I want to use it for.
