120GB HDD Windows XP partition size recommendations
« on: December 13, 2003, 10:22:39 am »
I\'ve bought a new HDD as my old one is becoming rather full. I plan to format it as NTFS (I had the old disk as FAT32 so that Linux could write to it without messing around with untested NTFS drivers). My Linux install is on a separate HDD so I\'ve no need of partitions for it, and I plan to use the old Windows disk so exchange info between Windows and Linux.

My question is should I partition this disk? Does the NTFS cluster size change with the size of the disk, i.e. will I loose significant amounts of storage if I don\'t partition it (like I would with FAT)?

Any other suggestions?

Cheers,

Si
