Please help me migrate

I've been tinkering with my new sl5500, and I definatly like the openzaurus rom better than the sharp stock rom. However, I have two problems I need to adress before I can use it regularly.

First of all, the backup file that I made with the sharp rom isn't compatable with the opie backup software, so I can't import my huge adress book. I don't have a computer right now, so using qtopia isn't an option. Is there some way to untar the files into a specific folder?

Also, I have tried just about every memory ratio of the stable rom and the development build, and I still have major write errors no matterwhere I try to install packages. am I missing something?

What are you doing exactly? Where are you trying to install things, and what are they, etc.?

Which Sharp ROM are you using? The backup file is just a .tar file if I remember correctly. Therefore you should be able to extract the files using tar. If you are using a 2.xx Sharp ROM then you can just copy the xml files from ~/applications/datebook etc. into the same locations on OZ and go from there. If you were using 3.xx then you'll need to convert the dtm database which the data is stored in.

There are a couple of programs which people have developed which should be able to help you export from the dtm database to the xml files used by OZ. There was a recent link about this. Try searching for xml2dtm (though this goes in the other direction, the post contained a link to the code to go from dtm->xml).
