You don't have to use the battery when using the sl-6000
Why do you say that? Why do you have to use it in the C860?
I may have friend a CF slot on my C860 w/out using the battary, not entirely sure what's going on, but right now when I insert an 802.11b card (orinoco) I get "error -110 setting multicast list" and the card doesn't work (iwconfig reports no wireless extenstions for the card).
