CF Wlan card & PCMCIA

Hi

I just got myself a new SL5600 and now i'm planning to buy a CF Wlan card for it. Planning to get D-Link b'cos thats the cheaper that available .. i saw recently in some shops they selling those PCMCIA adapter cards that can support CF.

I was just wondering whether it is possible to use a CF Wlan card through the PCMCIA adaptor on a laptop to get wireles lan? Or do i need to purchase a special PCMCIA adaptor or anyone will do ?

It will work on linux. I use a netgear cf wifi just fine. If you use windows, you might be out of luck, as the drivers available for windows is only for windows ce, or the like.

Same here.

For Linux, I've got a Linksys WCF12 with a PCMCIA CF adapter and it is the best card I've tried with Fedora Core 2 on my laptop.  I didn't have to do anything except configure it.  It worked right out of the box.

Unfortunately, it doesn't come with any Windows XP drivers, though.  I do have a few other cards in my inventory that work with XP but not as easily with Linux.
