File Transfer Problem
« on: October 14, 2004, 11:15:00 pm »
I'm trying to transfer an MP3 file to my Zaurus 5600; 18752kb.
I've previously successfully transfered another .MP3 file; 21687kb.

I'm transfering to a 512MB CF card which is were I put the early .MP3 file.
I've deleted the earlier file but space wasn't a problem anyway.

Now I'm getting:

Zuarus File Transfer (window title)

Please exit application(s) and try operation again. (w/ OK button)

I've tried copying to CF and internal Flash but get the same message.
I'm able to play both .MP3 files on my desktop but only the larger downloaded and played on the Zaurus.

I'm stumpted.

John

You might need to carry out housekeeping to allow more free memory in internal Flash for the file transfer.

Can you transfer any file? Like a very small text file?

If not, probably the easiest way to sort this out is to reboot your PC and reboot your Zaurus using the Shutdown app in the Settings tab.

I think this was memory related.

I'm able to file transfer now.

Thanks,

John

FTP works for everything accept one .MP3 file.

I don't have a clue as to why just this file (plays fine on PC).

My previous problems were fixed by a format; I've since reloaded apps and am working  except this.

Thansk for your help.
