Network Sync (AGAIN)

Craig,

I tried the trick by putting eth0 in place of usbd0 in qtsamba. it still has same problem - i.e. "connection aborted". It works with the Zaurus in the USB cradle so I would assume we need to change the code somewhere else as well. I am running it on Sl5500.

I am trying to figure out how to change eth0 to wlan0.

Thanks a lot for your idea. It is a great one!

Sheel,

Hmm, sorry about that. I don't think you'll find an easy way to change eth0 to wlan0. That goes down to the kernel driver itself (but at least there is source code).

Another thought: how about pulling the qtsamba out of the old Zaurus ROM 2.38, which _did_ allow syncing across the wireless interface. I remember doing it with my SL-5500 and an old PC, I no longer have. I don't know how much they have changed things (I assume you are running Sharp ROM 3.13), but it is worth a try.

I hope this helps,

Craig...

Craig,

Thanks for giving ideas. Now, how do I pull qsamba from the old rom? I had managed to screw up in last ROM flashing  and made my Z a brick so I do not want to re-flash.

If there is a way to pullout qsamba without re-flashing, please let me know.

Thanks a million!

Sheel,

Skip that idea. (of using an older qtsamba). I just spent some time trying to tease a ROM apart. I wasn't very satifactory. And then I remembered that the PIM format was different in 2.x, so using an old qtsamba won't be able to sync anyway. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

Craig,

Thanks for saving my time.

The source code from trolltech is also no help as I searched for qtsamba and samba and there is no such instance found neither in the file names nor in the contents. Very surprising!

Yes, back to the CLEAN drawing board!

Thanks
