Dead 6000l - Egad ! Say It Ain't So !
« on: February 02, 2005, 03:11:03 am »
I mistakenly installed iirc for the 5500 on my 6000L and it kept rebotting and going back to the 5 second countdown and the the 30 second wait windows ad Nausem. (ie: forever)

So I tried resetting...no luck...

Then I removed the battery and switched the backup battery offf.....waited a few minutes and switched it back on....then inserted the battery again and reset....now it is dead as a doornail.  Even hooking it up to AC doesn't cause the charge light to light up (and it could use a charge.)  I tried a re-flash of the ROM, but it is too dead to do that.

Any ideas?  Currently I have the battery out and left backup battery on, hoping to wear it out and hoping it will help, but I am not hopeful.

This is very strange, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

PS(BAttery is not dead , but moire like at 75% charged)

I got it working by letting the backup battery run out.

BTW, the flash instructions are wrong, they say hold down Q+T and turn unit ON, it should be hold Q+T and hit reset.

Will update the how-to when I get a chance.
