Opie-checkbook File Format
« on: December 06, 2004, 02:05:49 pm »
Back in 3.3.5 I used jeode and jabp to deal with finances on my Z.  Wasn't ideal but it worked, mainly due to the ability to import qif files from BofA's online banking.

Had no joy with Jeode or Jabp and the use of oz-compat.  Jabp hangs on opening.  My oz-compat seems to be working fine.  Anyway, the problems come as no surprise really.  Figured that now that 3.5.2 is built with -soft-float that all the Jabp/Jeode floating point operations would be hosed anyway.

I'd be happy to move my checkbook to opie-checkbook if I can get it to import  qif files.

Is the opie-checkbook file format documented anywhere?

Doesn't look that complicated based on a couple simple entries I put in.  I'm happy to try to hack up a perl script to do some rudimentary qcb <-> qif conversion so that I can export all my old jabp entries out to qif and move them to opie-checkbook and then maybe be able to take a BofA-generated qif file and append it to the qcb file.

Not exactly "import/export support" but it would work for me for now

Cheers,
K
