Well, I apparently toasted my user permissions.
I installed a user manager application, hoping to be able to set the zaurus user up as a root user to avoid having to su/chown new directories that I create in my java development. Unfortunately, this seems to have nuked my user permissions.
Here are the symptoms, maybe somebody can tell me what is wrong or tell me how to set the zaurus user back to its default from the command line?
1) I can no longer edit app options accessed by holding down on an icon. The edit screen comes up, but no matter what I check (execute as root etc.), nothing is changed.
2) Some apps no longer launch from the desktop, but launch fine from the terminal (kopi in particular is causing me much pain. I need my calendar!)
3) Nethack still runs fine, so all is not lost
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
