I have a Gemini with Linux installed (no Android). It had been working fine.

Just now, I powered it up, got the Penguin splash screen, and then a few seconds later, the dead Android dude, with the red triangle on his chest, and "No command". This seems completely reproducible, unfortunately.

What happened?

How do I fix it?

I'm having some trouble adding a new user. I somehow added one user successfully, using the Users and Groups tool under Accessories. The new user's id is 100001 (1 greater than that of the gemini user), and this user shows up on the login screen.

Then I added a second user. This one has an id below 100000 and does not show up on the login screen.

I don't know what I did differently the two times. How do I add a user who can login?

Is there some way to use multiple desktops or workspaces using LXQT on Linux? The Keyboard Shortcuts have entries for "Switch to Desktop N", 1 <= N <= 4, and I tried binding keys to those commands, but those keys then seem to be ineffective.

Multiple desktops would be extremely useful, given the small amount of screen real estate.

Is there some way to use multiple workspaces or desktops?

Under Configuration Center -> Shortcut Keys, there are bindings for "Switch to desktop N", for N = 1..4. But when I bind those, e.g. to ctrl-alt-N, and use the shortcuts, I stay on the same, original, desktop.

Multiple workspaces/desktops would be very handy on this machine, given the small screen size.

I have just installed Debian Linux on my Gemini.

I have a QTerminal running, and I'm running top in it. I did not start any other processes.

top Shows a load average between 9 and 10. The top consumer of CPU is Xorg, using 5-7%.

Why is the load average so high? Is this typical?
