I'd love a gapps-less android build for the gemini. Any chance we could get a vanilla build? Personally I don't mind if it's for 7.1.1 or 8.1; I'd just like a more minimal starting point.

Me too.

Maybe you know this because its on support.planet.co.uk: There is a lineageos 14 port (nougat / 7.1) but ril does not work and it seems to be dead.

The android 8.1 kernel sources are released from Planet less than a day ago. Maybe someone can use them to build an AOSP.
