A new day at OESF and a new forum section!

Thanks for creating the new forum Mark!
If I was to be pedantic, which I normally am, the forum should really be called 'Arch Linux ARM' coz ARM is of course an acronym. If its too late then I think I can just about stand not having those two letters capitilsed - just! ![]() I'm sure this forum would be busier if more Zaurus owners knew what they were missing out on by not installing Arch. I honestly never expected such a speed bump complete with bang up-to-date apps out of my ol' Z at this late stage which is now running better than ever and it's quickly shaping up to be the machine I wanted a decade or so ago but never quite got so big thanks to daalnroti for giving the Z a new lease of life! |

Hey everyone! I'll give this a try in the near future when I get some weekend free time.
How hard would it be to get a sticky thread with a list of what is working and what is not? It might help to get people looking at the effort. |

In meantime, look at first post of the 'Archlinuxarm On C3x00' thread for info on this.... |

teh.sean:
As far as I know, all the Z hardware and features are working under Arch so long as you're not bothered about running X ![]() I'm sure we'll get X sorted out, its just not a priority for daal or myself. VGA seems a bit suffocating for running X in 2015. |

See my github or danboids howto for more details and information. What model do you have ? Xorg is not a priority, but is easy to get going with a custom keymap. Issue is with the touchscreen and memory limitation for most GTK/QT apps nowadays. Any questions ask in the main thread. Cheers! |

Well, figured it's easier to post around the forum in hopes that people who already posted subscribed to the thread. Therefore, I assume they will get a notification email from OESF which will tell them that OESF is alive again. This way we're reaching multiple people with one action.
Otherwise, would need to PM a lot of people individually about OESF coming back..... Hope this makes sense.... ![]() |
